Tottenham will star in a Premier League clash against Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday night as the north London side look to close the gap to the top four. Antonio Conte has hinted Spurs will struggle to finish higher than fifth after a 2-0 defeat at Aston Villa on New Year's Day, but a win against Palace will put them within two points of fourth-placed Manchester United in ranking.

Palace, meanwhile, currently trail 10th-placed Chelsea by just three points, and Patrick Vieira's troops went home with all three points against Bournemouth in their last game. Antonio Conte must count the cost of injuries galore and suspension problems when he appoints his Tottenham Hotspur side to take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday.

The Spurs boss will be looking to turn the tide for the club after a 2-0 defeat at home to Aston Villa on New Year's Day which saw them drop out of the top four and extend their run to 10 consecutive games in which they suffered goals first. contests Patrick Vieira Palace's side will not be looking to offer any sympathy for Conte's path on Wednesday night.

Conte will still be without Rodrigo Bentancur, Richarlison and Lucas Moura through injury, while he has said Dejan Kulusevski has a 50-50 chance of being involved after the minor muscle injury which has kept him out of Villa. Spurs will also be missing Yves Bissouma after the summer signing picked up a fifth yellow card at the weekend to trigger a one-match suspension.

The Tottenham manager has to decide which young player accompanies Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in midfield: 22-year-old Oliver Skipp or 20-year-old Pape Matar Sarr. Conte has taken a liking to the latter after working with him in recent weeks, but Skipp has the most Premier League experience and has played alongside Hojbjerg on several occasions.

If Kulusevski is unable to restart, with a likely bench role if available, Conte has indicated Bryan Gil is likely to start consecutively in the Premier League. Defensively, the Spurs boss has to decide whether to bring Eric Dier back into defense after the England international spent the Villa game on the bench.
