Group J's best team, led by Cristiano Ronaldo, has a perfect record.

In a matchup between the top two teams in Group J of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualification, Slovakia will host Portugal in Bratislava on Friday. The Falcons will be trying to at least halt Cristiano Ronaldo and his Selecao teammates' perfect record, as Roberto Martinez's Portuguese squad has won all four of its games so far while the Falcons are only two points behind and are only two points worse off. Martinez is in charge of Portugal after Euro 2016 champion Fernando Santos moved for Slovakia's neighbors Poland, while Slovakia is vying for a third consecutive appearance at the European Championship.

Friday in Bratislava, Slovakia will host Portugal in a showdown between the top two teams in Group J of the UEFA Euro 2024 qualifiers. The Falcons will be attempting to at least interrupt Cristiano Ronaldo and his Selecao teammates' unbeaten streak because they are only two points behind and only two points worse off than Roberto Martinez's Portuguese club, which has won all four of its games thus far. Martinez is in charge of Portugal after Fernando Santos, the Euro 2016 champion, joined Poland, a country that borders Slovakia and is seeking to make a third straight participation at the European Championship.

How to watch and the chances

Date: September 8th, Friday 2:45 p.m. Eastern Time

The Stadion Tehelne Pole is where you can find Slovakia.

live streaming: Fubo (try it for free)

Odds: Portugal -225; Slovakia +650; and Draw +333.

Team updates Slovakia: With veteran Juraj Kucka in set to earn his 100th cap, Paris Saint-Germain defender Milan Skriniar and Newcastle United goalie Martin Dubravka should be mainstays at the back. Despite the fact that Marek Hamsik has now retired, Stanislav Lobotka should follow him. Slovakia's top goal threat is Robert Mak, with David Strelec set to fill a reserve role.

Dubravka, Pekarik, Skriniar, Vavro, Hancko, Duda, Lobotka, Kucka, Suslov, Bozenik, and Mak might make up Slovakia's starting lineup.

Portugal: Ronaldo, who is 38 and still holds the captain's armband, scored six goals and four assists in four league games with Al-Nassr. While Jose Sa and Toti Gomes of Wolverhampton Wanderers are without a cap and Matheus Nunes of Manchester City is absent, Otavio and Ruben Neves are currently both playing in Saudi Arabia. While Rafa Silva and Joao Mario have retired internationally, Raphael Guerreiro, Nuno Mendes, and Pepe are no longer playing.

Potential Portugal starting lineup: Cancelo, Palhinha, Fernandes, Dalot; B. Silva, Ronaldo, Leao; Pereira, Dias, and A. Silva.

Prediction

Although Portugal will probably continue its winning streak at the group summit, this match is likely to be close, and their streak of clean sheets may come to an end. Although a draw wouldn't be entirely unexpected, the Portuguese should have just enough to gain three more points. Pick: Portugal 2, Slovakia 1.
