About This Game :-

Argentina are looking to reach their sixth World Cup final, while Croatia are hoping to enter the history books as the fourth European nation to reach back-to-back finals.

Argentina continue their quest for a third title by taking on Croatia in the semi-finals of the 2022 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday. The Argentines won the title in both 1978 and 1986 but were denied in their last two away games until the final, losing to West Germany in 1990 and Germany eight years ago. In the 2018 tournament, Croatia won 3-0 against Argentina in the group stage and beat England in their first semi-final appearance, but were beaten by France 4-2 in the championship match.

Why you should support Argentina:-

The Argentines have provided their share of drama in the tournament so far, losing to Saudi Arabia in their group opener and taking a 2-0 lead over the Netherlands in the quarter-finals before winning on penalties. They have been consistent offensively since the defeat to the Saudis, scoring twice in four consecutive matches. No one in the squad has been more stable than Lionel Messi, who ranks second among all players in the tournament with four goals.

The 35-year-old, who scored four goals during Argentina's run to the final in 2014, has found the back of the net in four out of five matches this year. Messi was a factor against the Dutch in the quarter-finals, scoring one goal and setting up another before converting Argentina's first penalty kick. JuliƔn Ɓlvarez has not failed on the sport's biggest stage, as the 22-year-old forward is the club's second to score with a pair of goals.

Why you should support Croatia:-

With the exception of a 4-1 win over Canada in the group stage, the Croatians were involved in close and low scoring competition. They battled Morocco and Belgium to goalless draws during the group stage before defeating Japan and Brazil on penalties after 1–1 results in the round of 16 and quarter-finals respectively. The Croatians beat Japan 3-1 on penalties and converted all four tries against the Brazilians to reach the semi-finals for the third time in six World Cup appearances.

Midfielder Nikola Vlasic set the tone for Croatia, scoring from his first try in both matches. Striker Andrej Kramaric leads the club in non-penalty goals, having scored twice in the group stage win against Canada. Veteran Ivan Perisic recorded one goal and two assists in the tournament, giving him six goals and four assists in 15 games in three World Cup appearances.

Croatia still surprises :-

Croatia, who beat Japan and pre-tournament favorites Brazil on penalties to reach the quarter-finals, have not won a knockout match in a major tournament since finishing third at the 1998 World Cup.

Despite doing it the hard way, the country of 3.9 million shocked the footballing world by reaching the final four years ago, where France shattered their dreams with a 4-2 win.

Croatia, with Real Madrid midfielder Modric still leading at the age of 37, defied predictions once again to be on the brink of a second successive final.

Prediction :-

Argentina will not allow Croatia to do what Croatia did to Brazil. The match will not go to extra time. Argentina will win 2-1.
